Strategic Plans Are Less Important Than Strategic Planning

Do you avoid developing a strategic plan because it becomes obsolete almost before it is completed?  No plan survives contact with reality.  However, without a plan or direction, and a planning process in place, your business will most likely attain lackluster results and never achieve its full potential.  A strategic plan should be viewed as a work in progress and strategic planning as an ongoing (e.g., monthly) activity.  Read Graham Kenny’s article in the Harvard Business Review here.
